The Orlando Predators are living off borrowed time entering Saturday night’s road game at Milwaukee. Following last week’s 45-34 win over Alabama the Preds are currently holding down the fourth and final playoff spot in the American Conference with a 6-7 record.

It seems every week the Orlando Predators are fighting for their playoff lives. It’ll be that way once again this Friday, just as it was in a heartbreaking shootout this past weekend, when South Division foe Alabama comes to town. The Preds lost 77-70 in OT on Saturday.



Former Olympians lead local USSSA Pride softball

Last year Cat Osterman won most valuable player honors by helping wrap up the National Pro Fastpitch Cowles Cup as she led the Rockford Thunder to a series win over the expansion USSSA Pride. This weekend she’s pitching for the Pride at UCF Softball Complex.

UCF softball returns to Gainesville for NCAA play

Despite a 3-1 loss to East Carolina in the Conference USA Championship game in Houston on Saturday, the UCF softball team earned an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament. The UCF Knights last played in the postseason back in 2008.



Catching up with the UCF Knights softball team

Since taking down No. 9 Alabama the UCF Knights softball team has gone 18-9 over the past month and now find themselves sitting atop the Conference USA standings. At 10-4 in C-USA play the Knights are in for quite a test the rest of the way.



Knights drop No. 9 Alabama, host weekend tourney

On the final day of the NFCA Leadoff Classic at South Commons Stadium and Complex in Columbus, Ga., the UCF softball team scored a 3-2 upset over No. 9 Alabama. This weekend the Knights host the six-team UCF Tournament through Sunday.



Edgewater, Winter Park hoops primed for playoffs

District tournaments are in full swing for local boys basketball teams as the likes of Winter Park and Edgewater look to advance to states. On Saturday, the 6A-4 title will be decided and the Eagles and Wildcats are the favorites to play for it.
