The Rollins College men’s basketball season ended in stunning fashion in the opening round of the Division II South Region Tournament on Saturday against Florida Southern. The Tars lost 76-74.

Last weekend UCF’s spirit program wrapped up the 2011 College Cheerleading and Dance National Championships at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports. The UCF cheerleaders took third in Division IA.
Alabama pummeled Michigan State 49-7 on Saturday in the Capital One Bowl with an announced crowd of 61,519 on hand at Citrus Bowl Stadium. The Tide outgained MSU 546-171 in total yards.

There’s no reason to figure that Bishop Moore’s girls volleyball team will not be in contention for a state title come November. Last weekend Bishop Moore finished third at the prestigious Berkley Premier Invitational in Tampa.
There will be a few new faces on the links in 2010 for the Lake Mary boys golf team as the 2009 FHSAA Class 2A champs look to defend their title. Last season the Rams won the program’s third state championship since 2004 by an eight-stroke advantage at Silver Spring Shores.
