With nothing left to lose at this point in the season, the UCF men’s basketball team is 21-11 and making the most of its extended schedule in the College Basketball Invitational.

The second round of the College Basketball Invitational for the UCF men’s basketball team takes place Monday at UCF Arena, where the Knights (20-11) host Rhode Island (20-13) after getting past St. Bonaventure.

Junior guard A.J. Rompza hit a 3-pointer with 3.8 seconds remaining to lift the UCF men’s basketball team to a 65-64 Conference USA win Saturday at the UCF Arena. UCF improves to 18-9 overall.

With Wednesday’s 65-62 win on the road against Tulane, the UCF basketball team has claimed two-straight wins since dropping its previous eight in a row. UCF stands at 16-8 overall and 3-8 in C-USA.

The UCF basketball team played well enough to win on Wednesday night. But instead of celebrating a victory, the Knights (14-8, 1-8 in C-USA) are left scratching their heads in disbelief.

Even with his big contribution, the UCF basketball team suffered the same fate for the sixth consecutive time with a 74-69 loss to UAB at the UCF Arena. The Knights are now 1-6 in C-USA.

The 14-game winning streak for the UCF Knights basketball team ended Saturday night in Houston. UCF fell behind early to the Cougars and never held a lead in the 76-71 loss.

The UCF Knights overcame a 12-point lead by Miami on Saturday to pull out an 84-78 win at the Orange Bowl Classic at BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Fla. Marcus Jordan scored a game-high 23 points.

UCF fans were treated to two big wins over rival USF. First, the men’s soccer team eliminated the Bulls from the NCAA Tournament. Then the men’s basketball team went on to score a big win in front of 7,653.
