UCF Women Drop 80-69 Tourney Game To OSU

The collegiate careers of five seniors ended on Saturday as the UCF women’s basketball team lost 80-69 to Ohio State in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. The Knights finished the season 22-11.



UCF Women Earns NCAA Bid Against Ohio State

Its second Conference USA title in three years has afforded the UCF women’s basketball team a spot in the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time in program history. The Knights face Ohio State on Saturday.

On Thursday UCF returned to Orlando, where a miraculous half-court shot at the buzzer by Gevenia Carter gave the Knights a 68-65 win over UTEP. “Yeah, I thought it was good,” Carter said afterwards.

Before returning to Orlando for a matchup against UTEP on Thursday, the UCF women’s basketball team is on the road at Tulsa on Sunday at 2 p.m. The Knights are currently 11-10 overall and 4-4 in Conference USA.



UCF’s Joi Williams Notches 100th-Career Victory

It’s been an average start to the season for the UCF women’s basketball team. But a win on the road Thursday gave head coach Joi Williams No. 100 for her career. UCF is now 8-6 on the year.



UCF: Williams wins USA gold, James finishes sixth

UCF was well represented over the weekend as women’s basketball head coach Joi Williams won a gold medal with the USA Women’s U-18 National Team and alum Tiki James took sixth place in the 100-meter hurdles at the USA Track & Field Outdoor Championships.



Basketball seasons officially end for teams at UCF

Both the men’s and women’s basketball teams at UCF had their seasons come to a close in the Conference USA Championship quarterfinals in Tulsa this week. Despite the ups and downs, there seems to be enough in place for a strong turnaround.



UCF women sweep C-USA awards, host No. 3 Irish

Last week two UCF women’s basketball players – junior Emma Cannon and freshman Gevenia Carter – swept weekly awards handed out by Conference USA. On Tuesday at the defending C-USA champs take on No. 3 Notre Dame at UCF Arena.
