A UCF football player was named C-USA Defensive Player of the Year, basketball players from University and Winter Park high schools have impressive outings and a couple Florida Tuskers earn postseason awards from the United Football League.



Orlando denied again as Florida Tuskers lose title game

This one must really sting though, huh? Making it all the way to the inaugural United Football League championship game as an undefeated team at 6-0 only to come up short, 20-17, against the hometown Las Vegas Locomotives in overtime.



Tuskers pummel Cal in return for local alumni

Apparently not many people here in Orlando care a whole hell of a lot about the Florida Tuskers. Or even the United Football League for that matter. On Thursday night a former UCF head coach and four former players took a crack at bringing down the hometown team.

Tuskers go wild in debut of UFL at Citrus Bowl

The team here in Florida may have the most unusual nickname but at least they’ve got the best-looking uniforms of the bunch. More importantly, the Tuskers look like the team to beat after debuting Saturday night with a 35-13 victory over the New York Sentinels.



Florida Tuskers and the United Football League

Professional football makes its grand return to the Florida Citrus Bowl in just over a week’s time as the Florida Tuskers of the United Football League take the field in the league’s premier season on Saturday, Oct. 10. Local enthusiasts have patiently awaited, though many expect the semi-pro football team and its league to make its way through this football-starved town much the same way others had before it.
