In this edition… Rollins soccer caught in a snowstorm, prep and college football postseason takes shape, Dwight Howard is honored, UCF off to fast start in hoops, and local alumni in title games.

The UFL’s title game came down to the final play as Tuskers kicker Nick Novak had his 45-yard attempt blocked at the line of scrimmage. That gave Las Vegas a 23-20 win and its second-straight championship.

Florida’s defense returned two interceptions for touchdowns and Nick Novak drilled two long field goals to lead the Tuskers to a 27-10 win over Omaha. Florida won its third straight to improve to 5-3.

The last time Tuskers quarterback Chris Greisen started a game was against current teammate Huey Whittaker and the Arena Football League’s Spokane Shock in the National Conference final.

The Florida Tuskers took advantage of four Hartford turnovers to score a United Football League record 38 points in the first half en route to a 41-7 win over the Colonials on Thursday at the Citrus Bowl.

Tonight marks the final home game of the season for the UFL’s Florida Tuskers. And at 3-3 they control their own destiny. With wins over the final two weeks Florida would return to the title game.

Sports fans had little trouble finding something to do with their time on Friday. In action were the Orlando Magic, Florida Tuskers, UCF football and women’s soccer, Rollins men’s soccer, and prep football games.

Daunte Culpepper added to a long list of great memories at the Florida Citrus Bowl on Thursday night by leading his United Football League team to a come-from-behind win over the Florida Tuskers.

Offensively, the Florida Tuskers have had some trouble getting on track this season. After averaging 30.5 points per game a season ago, the team has been averaging just over 24 points per game this time around.

The Florida Tuskers went on the road and came away with a 33-20 win over the Hartford Colonials. The win improved the Tuskers to 2-2 on the season and positions them in third place in the UFL standings.
