In the next 24 hours, a dream will become a reality for Oviedo pitcher A.J. Cole. “I’ve been waiting my whole life for this day. It’s a dream come true… when I was little I said I wanted to play professional baseball and tomorrow I find out if I get to go or not,” he said.



Oviedo, Winter Springs advance to District 3 finals

The Oviedo and Winter Springs girls soccer teams were decisive in their Class 6A, District 3 semifinal wins on Wednesday. On Friday night they’ll meet up with the district title, and home field advantage in the region semifinals next week, on the line.



Games starting to count for area football teams

Call it the Clash of the District 4 Titans. That’s essentially what next week’s meeting between Timber Creek and Winter Park will be at Showalter Field on Friday, Oct. 9. The winner of that game is likely to wrap up the four-team Class 6A-4 title, leaving the loser to fend off University (2-2) and Colonial (0-4) later in the season for a spot in the playoffs.
