It’s end of road for Timber Creek baseball at states

The season came to an abrupt end for the Timber Creek baseball team as they dropped an 8-4 decision to Pembroke Pines Flanagan at the state semifinals in Port St. Lucie on Friday night. The Wolves were outhit 14-9 and trailed 5-0 after five innings.



New approach by coach helps TCHS into final four

Timber Creek’s baseball team became the first Class 6A squad from Orange County to advance to the state final four since Boone finished runners-up back in 2005. The Wolves take on Flanagan in Port St. Lucie on Friday at 8 p.m. in the semifinals.



Win over Freedom sends TCHS to 6A Region Finals

It’s already been a season to remember at Timber Creek High School. After winning in the regional playoffs for the first time since the program started, the Wolves are one game away from the state semifinals. Next up is Jacksonville Mandarin.



TCHS baseball scores two in sixth to get by Hagerty

We have yet to hear the last of high school baseball’s Class 6A, District 4. Timber Creek used two runs in the top of the sixth inning and a gem of a pitching performance from Jonathan Dydo to ruin the postseason debut for Hagerty 2-1 on Tuesday night.



Timber Creek baseball rebuilt for run at regionals

Timber Creek figured a shaky pitching staff would be the team’s biggest obstacle to overcome at the start of its high school season. But it was a combination of injuries and inexperience the Wolves worked around to advance to regional play.



Winter Park boys lax stay alive with District 8 win

Things weren’t exactly looking good over the course of the first half for the Winter Park boys lacrosse team during Friday night’s District 8 title game against Timber Creek at Boone High School. But the Wildcats prevailed 16-7 off of 12 unanswered goals.



Local hoopsters advance to NCAA March Madness

Four local players punched tickets to the Big Dance this week. Making a trip to March Madness are Florida’s Chandler Parsons (Lake Howell), Purdue’s Keaton Grant (Gateway), Wofford’s Corey Godzinski (East Ridge) and Winthrop’s Chris Malcolm (Timber Creek).



Winter Springs girls soccer wins big over TCHS

Winter Springs denied Timber Creek its first win in the state tournament on Thursday as the Bears went on the road and scored a convincing 6-1 victory in the Class 6A girls soccer regional quarterfinals Thursday night.



Boone seniors shine brightest in 17-14 East win

With the final swing of his leg, in the last high school football game of young life, Boone’s Lucas Rawlings helped the East Seniors cap a come-from-behind 17-14 win in the annual Orange County Senior Bowl on Wednesday at Oak Ridge High School.
