Winter Springs girls soccer wins big over TCHS

Winter Springs denied Timber Creek its first win in the state tournament on Thursday as the Bears went on the road and scored a convincing 6-1 victory in the Class 6A girls soccer regional quarterfinals Thursday night.



Boone seniors shine brightest in 17-14 East win

With the final swing of his leg, in the last high school football game of young life, Boone’s Lucas Rawlings helped the East Seniors cap a come-from-behind 17-14 win in the annual Orange County Senior Bowl on Wednesday at Oak Ridge High School.



Orlando Sports Central Standouts – 11/18/09

The UCF football team defeats a ranked team, Isaac Sosa hits six three-pointers for the UCF basketball team, Lyman’s Spencer Shumway bowls his way to a state title, Olympia High alum Chris Johnson puts up big numbers in the NFL, and former Bishop Moore standout Jennifer George debuts in a big way.



Lake Mary sweeps golf state championships

Last week the golf teams at Lake Mary swept through the Class 2A state tournament as both the boys and girls high school squads came away with team titles in Marion County while the Class 1A finals featured solid finishes from Trinity Prep and Lake Highland Prep.



Orlando Sports Central Standouts – 10/28/09

Each week Orlando Sports Central posts its list of top performers with ties to the Central Florida area. This week an entire high school girls golf team makes the list as does two collegiate women golfers. Closing out the Top-5 are high school wrestlers who competed at one of the elite preseason tournaments in the country over the weekend.



Timber Creek keeps season alive with district win

Timber Creek took the lead for good on Friday night when Cameron Smith bulldozed his way to the goal line on a 10-yard run. The Wolves then eventually got the 20-14 win when they held on down the stretch at home against Colonial.



Golf teams at TCHS and Olympia dominate area

The boys and girls high school golf teams at Timber Creek and Olympia continued their march towards the state tournament this week as all four squads won their respective district tournaments after already taking Metro Conference titles.

Each week Orlando Sports Central posts its list of top performers with ties to the Central Florida area. This week Becca Thomas and Brooks Bollinger make a return appearance while a freshman high school football player, high school boys golfer and a 314-pound defensive lineman all make the cut.



TCHS finds relief in shutout of Winter Springs

The Timber Creek football team has been on the wrong end of tight ballgames this season, exhausting every last resource against the likes of Boone and Winter Park only to come away dejected at night’s end. Thursday’s non-district over Winter Springs should do wonders for the Wolves.



Bowlers at TCHS and Colonial reach perfection

It’s not everyday you wake up and successfully embark on a journey of perfection. In fact many of us hardly come close to such a mark often times. But perfection is what senior Roberto Ramos of Timber Creek and freshman William Duen of Colonial attained last month as both bowled perfect games for their respective high school bowling teams.
