From war to title game for Oak Ridge alum Boracic

Berin Boracic returned to Orlando over the holiday break, making the first visit to his family’s new home before returning to school in North Carolina. It’s been nearly a decade since they escaped to Central Florida after living amongst a war that was right at their doorstep and just a month since competing in the D-II National Championship.



Boone seniors shine brightest in 17-14 East win

With the final swing of his leg, in the last high school football game of young life, Boone’s Lucas Rawlings helped the East Seniors cap a come-from-behind 17-14 win in the annual Orange County Senior Bowl on Wednesday at Oak Ridge High School.

The annual Rotary Tip-Off Classic in Winter Park has seen its share of remarkable high school basketball talent over the last three decades. Add Austin Rivers of Winter Park to that list. Just be sure not to leave out his teammates in the process.



Extra points: Oak Ridge over Colonial

Last week Oak Ridge had little trouble with visiting Colonial on the football field as the Pioneers got big plays from teammates on both sides of the ball in a 40-12 win. Among the contributors were a transfer at quarterback, a senior defensive leader at linebacker and several underclassman making names for themselves.



Oak Ridge off to 4-1 start under new head coach

There’s something new taking shape within the football program at Oak Ridge High School. You can sense it in the atmosphere at Lee Leonard Stadium and see it in the way the Pioneers have been slinging the ball around during the first half of the season. New head coach Elijah Williams has Oak Ridge off to a 4-1 start just one season after the team went 3-7 overall and 0-4 in district play.



West Orange football basking in early season success
