UCF Softball Scores Late In 7th To Beat FSU, 2-1

The UCF softball team scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning Wednesday to defeat Florida State 2-1 in dramatic fashion at the UCF Softball Complex. The Knights played in front of 538 fans.



UCF Baseball Gets By No. 4 Florida In Ninth, 4-3

Sophomore Darnell Sweeney made up for an error that allowed No. 4 Florida to break a 2-2 tie in the eighth inning on Tuesday by lining a two-out, two-run double to center to give UCF a 4-3 win in Gainesville.



Boone’s Bracy Runs A 10.26, Enters Dream 100

Once the high school track season comes to a close, Boone’s Marvin Bracy will be competing against some of the country’s best in the Dream 100 race at the adidas Grand Prix on June 11 in New York City.

Orlando Predators Named AFL Players Of Week

Earlier in the week Rayshaun Kizer and Robert Quiroga were named Arena Football League Players of the Week following Orlando’s 68-53 win over the Utah Blaze at the new Amway Center.



Orlando City Soccer Opens USL Regular Season

Prior to its home opener against on April 9, the Orlando City Lions of the United Soccer Leagues Pro Division get the regular season underway today in Virginia against the Richmond Kickers at 4 p.m.

Rain put a damper on the collegiate schedule this past week. No. 9 Rollins College women’s tennis team defeated No. 11 Florida Southern, while the Magic dropped close games to Atlanta and New York.



UCF Debuts In Top 25, Shuts Down No. 20 Stetson

In the 8-2 win over No. 20 Stetson at Jay Bergman Field, Darnell Sweeney and Erik Hempe each drove in two runs while Chase Bradford struck out four in six innings in his first career start for the Knights.



Rollins Senior Nick Wolf Named All-American

The impressive career of Rollins College guard Nick Wolf was topped off with the senior standout being named a First Team All-American by Division II Bulletin and Second Team All-American by Basketball Times.



Dwight Howard Tops East For 6th Week Of Season

Magic center Dwight Howard was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week for his efforts between March 21-27. Howard has won the award six times this season and 17 times in his career.
