Previewing Magic Opponents – Northwest Division

Last season the Utah Jazz (53-29) edged out the Denver Nuggets (53-29) for the Northwest Division title, securing home-court advantage in their postseason matchup in the Western Conference playoffs.

The Jazz eliminated the Nuggets before going on to lose to the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round. Last season, the Portland Trail Blazers (50-32) lost in the first round to the Phoenix Suns and the Oklahoma City Thunder (50-32) lost in the first round to the Lakers. Rounding out the Northwest Division were the Minnesota Timberwolves (15-67).

Minnesota Assistant Coach Reggie Theus spent his second season in the NBA with the Orlando Magic during the team’s inaugural year of 1989-90… Minnesota Center Darko Milicic played in 110 games with the Magic from 2005-07.
