PHOTOS: UCF Football off to 2-1 start to season
By J.C. CARNAHAN | September 18th, 2010 | Category: – RECENT POSTS, Football, UCF Knights | No Comments »Ronnie Weaver scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter Saturday night and rushed for a team-high 49 yards on eight carries to help UCF get past host Buffalo 24-10. It wasn’t a pretty win, though, as the Knights led just 10-3 at halftime following a defensive score in the second quarter. With less than seven minutes remaining before the break, Bruce Miller stepped in front of a shovel pass from Buffalo’s Jerry Davis and went the other way for a score. The Bulls tied things up before the Knights eventually got the running game going to put Buffalo away.
UCF is now 7-1 all-time against Buffalo… Reggie Weems intercepted a pass in the win… UCF has now scored on each of its last 14 red-zone possessions… Darius Nall (9 tackles) had two sacks against the Bulls… Jeff Godfrey (15-of-24 for 130 yards passing and 44 yards rushing on 13 carries) is the fourth true freshman to start at quarterback for UCF since 1996…
