Competing at the same venue where the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held in March, sophomore Jackie Coward ran the second leg of the 4×400 relay in 55.30 seconds in leading the way to the record-setting performance.

She joined junior Champelle Brown, sophomore Aisha-Maree Frazier, and sophomore Sheila Paul in besting the previous indoor mark of 3:46.28 set in 2009.

Frazier and Paul were also a part of that relay team a year ago, along with Lizzie Harris and Shantile Blackburn.

The Knights indoor track and field team will be in Houston next weekend, Feb. 26-27, to compete in the Conference USA Indoor Championships.
