By the numbers: Timber Creek escapes Wekiva
By J.C. Leading 28-12 after three quarters of play, Wekiva put up 14 points in the final period before TCHS closed the door on a comeback by foiling a two-point conversion attempt.

Colin Brown increased his tackle total to 36 in all (27 solo, 9 assist) through three games with a 12-tackle outing in the win and also recorded his third sack of the season. Teammate Jacob Wainwright logged 16 tackles himself (11 solo, 5 assist) against the Mustangs and now has 31 thus far to his credit.
Other key defensive plays showing up on the stat sheet were made by Cameron Smith (7 tackles, 2 pass defense), James Johnson (forced fumble, fumble recovery), Christian Marrero (5 tackles, 2 sacks, pass defense), Todd Heisman (6 tackles, 1 sack, forced fumble) and Matt Britzuis (3 tackles, fumble recovery).
Smith also scored a touchdown on a 4-yard run. Isiah Bolden ran for two scores on 17 carries for 62 yards and Kyle Plaugher caught his fourth touchdown pass of the young season on four catches for 40 yards. Jalil Byrd caught five passes for 32 yards.
Senior quarterback Tyler Marincov was efficient yet again, going 10 of 15 for 94 yards. He now has six touchdowns against just one interception this season. This Friday Marincov will line up on his home field against fellow quarterback friend and UCF recruit Blake Bortles from Oviedo at 7:30 p.m.
